Role Summary
You will be the technical engine driving Onboarded’s Salesforce platform evolution. You’ll maintain and enhance our existing managed package and integrations, but also build new capabilities—leveraging AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and generative automation. You'll partner with product, solutions, and sales teams to build bespoke enterprise solutions, making advanced features accessible in the Salesforce ecosystem.
What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)
Platform & Maintenance
- Own and evolve the core Salesforce managed package: enhancements, bug fixes, upgrades, versioning, packaging, release cycles.
- Monitor, debug, and optimize performance — Apex, triggers, batch jobs, integrations, SOQL indexing, governor limits.
- Ensure platform health: SLAs, monitoring, error recovery, automated alerts, logs.
Configuration & Core Extensions
- Configure declaratively: Flows, validation rules, record types, page layouts, permission sets, custom metadata.
Build lightweight custom solutions (Apex, LWC, Aura) when needed to extend above what clicks can do. - Drive integration work: REST / SOAP endpoints, Platform Events, ETL pipelines, middleware connectors (e.g. Mulesoft, custom APIs).
AI / Generative Innovation
- Prototype, integrate, and operationalize LLMs, prompt chains, and AI / agentic automation workflows into Salesforce flows, services, or Apex layers.
- Build custom AI connectors: e.g. next-best action recommendation, document generation, summarization, agent workflows inside Salesforce.
- Work cross-functionally to embed AI features into customer-facing solutions, ensuring user experience and trust (guardrails, prompt safety, latency).
Solution & Enterprise Work
- Collaborate with solution / sales teams to build architecture for high-stakes deals; design scalable solutions, integrations, data flows.
- Draft technical specs, design docs, integration proposals, SOWs, and implementation plans.
- Serve as a hands-on technical point for enterprise / ISVs: do POCs, customizations, and adjustments per client needs.
- Mentor junior engineers or contractors; conduct code reviews, architecture reviews, and enforce best practices.
Stay Ahead & Innovate
- Keep current on Salesforce releases, AI/LLM trends, ecosystem changes.
- Explore and recommend tooling, automation frameworks, “AI + Salesforce accelerators,” internal libraries, reusable assets.
- Partner with product and head of salesforce to identify new platform feature opportunities (e.g. AI components, data model shifts) and help build them.
Desired Experience & Skills
Must-haves
- 5–8+ years working hands-on with Salesforce: Apex, LWC/Aura, triggers, integrations, packaging, managed apps, data model, security.
- Solid experience building integrations (REST, SOAP, middleware, event streams) and working with external APIs.
- Demonstrated exposure to AI / ML / LLM / prompt engineering (at least in prototyping or production).
- Ability to architect scalable, maintainable systems, while also rolling up sleeves for dev work.
- Strong documentation chops: you can produce design docs, spec sheets, API docs, internal libraries, etc.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills: you’ll work cross-functionally with product, solutions, sales, and customers.
- A bias toward action and iteration: ability to move fast, test, learn, refactor.
- Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, Architect, etc.).
- Experience in ISV / managed package development / AppExchange.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building or integrating autonomous agents or LLM-driven workflows.
- Familiarity with prompt orchestration, chains, embeddings, vector stores, etc.
- Prior work in regulated or compliance-heavy domains (staffing, onboarding, HR tech).
Working Model & Team
- You’ll be part of a core team supporting our Salesforce motion, collaborating with solution leaders, sales, product, and customer teams.
- Initially, you may work solo on many features, but may have support from contractors or junior engineers down the line.
- Occasional travel (customer workshops, demos, partner engagements).
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive pay + performance bonus + equity
- Fully remote-first with periodic in-person offsites
- Health, dental, vision
- High ownership, strong impact early in growth
